Who/What kind of girl am I?
I am first and foremost the Mom to 3 beautiful kids. Although they are all grown, I’m very close with each one and they are the biggest part of my life by far. I would consider myself a very active person who enjoys almost any outdoor activity. I’m generally  a pretty competitive person, but mostly with myself.
I love to run, hike, bike, ski, travel, raft, camp, take my dog on long walks….run a few races throughout the year, some competitive, some just for fun…..I also love to cook and am a huge animal lover! I just enjoy the beauty of what Idaho has to offer. I love my life, my family, my pets & being healthy
Why CrossFit & How has it changed me:
I have always been what I would call “active”, not necessarily “fit”. I was always the Mom jumping on the trampoline with my kids, walking the dogs, going from one  game to the next…..just living a busy lifestyle. I’ve never been a “couch potato”. I got to a point in my life where I felt like I was ” Ryan, Kylie & Kacie’s Mom” without really ever having my own identity since becoming a Mom. So when my youngest started driving,  I found I had more time on my hands.
I started working with a Personal Trainer in 2004 and just became hooked on becoming fit. I truly loved it and just became fascinated with fitness & nutrition and what the body could do. After training for several years, I was ready for something different.
My daughter & I had started hearing a few rumblings about CrossFit and we were curious. She heard about CrossFit Station and that was the beginning of a new life for me. From the first time I went, I was addicted! It was like nothing I had ever done before. I mean when where can you get an amazing full-body workout in 7 minutes and walk away saying “WOW…..I cannot wait to come back tomorrow?”  I love the variety, the constant change, the challenge to get better at the things I struggle with…..(over head squats & I do not like each other ) Within 3 months I had quit going to my personal trainer and became a full-time CrossFitter and couldn’t be happier. I have never felt better in my life…not in my 20’s, 30’s or 40’s. I just celebrated my 50th birthday and I have more energy than ever, thus my friends nicknaming me “The Energizer Bunny!” My running times are at their all time best…..my overall fitness level is where I never thought it could be, especially at my age!  I feel like CrossFit pushes me to do things I once thought unimaginable. I am in the best shape of my life and still feel I have plenty of room to grow. I truly love the atmosphere, the people and most of all Trina & Tony. I have become part of this CrossFit family where we push, encourage & really care about each other.
CrossFit has not only changed me physically, but mentally as well. I have learned to never give up, you can finish anything you start & your body can be pushed to lengths you have never imagined it could.
The mind is a very powerful thing. ….never say never! The thing I probably love the most about CrossFit is that anyone can do it….any age, any body type, any fitness level.  I think there is a huge stereotype that it’s only for the “elite” or people that are already very fit but this could not be more wrong. You go to CrossFit to get fit on any level. ..the sky is the limit!
